There are Nine African Movie titles in a cinema close to you, one of the highest we have recorded since we started these series. We see some titles making a comeback like The Meeting due to the newly launched FilmHouse Cinema at Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

85th Oscar long-listed animation South African film Zambezia (also known as Adventures in Zambezia) which I wrote about HERE and allafricancinema.com  profiled severally HEREHERE and HERE,  is still in cinemas for a third month running. Honestly you have no excuse not to see this great animation which is showing only in Lagos now.

The Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Lagos and Port-Harcourt, still do not have any African titles very disappointing indeed as this was the case last week with Portharcourt!  However all hope is not lost for African cinema fans as Silverbird Port- Harcourt   has got all the hottest African titles this month.

All last month’s titles returned for another month this June which means the cinemas are making money and keeping them in the screens.

We’re particularly excited about The Contract, congrats Yvonne Okoro (again), especially as this is her first produced movie but only Ibadan has it now.  Silverbird Cinemas, Accra  still doesn’t have any African titles screening including its own Yvonne Okoro ‘s ‘Contract’ and I never got a reply from  Yvonne Okoro about why her movie wasn’t in that cinema.

Make sure you go out this weekend to see an African title.  Follow the Links below to find out more about the movies, including trailers:
